THE ‘12 NATURAL WONDERS’ SERIES LAUNCHED IN AUSTRALIA BACK IN 2013 BY AWARD WINNING PHOTOGRAPHER AND FILM DIRECTOR, PAUL GIGGLE. PAUL TRAVELS EACH YEAR TO A DIFFERENT COUNTRY TO PHOTOGRAPH 12 IMAGES FOR HIS PERSONAL ART SERIES. AFTER THE TWELVE SERIES ARE COMPLETE HE WILL PUBLISH HIS WORK IN A COLLECTABLE BOOK AS WELL AS EXHIBIT THE WORKS INTERNATIONALLY.
Byron Bay is Australias playground for celebrities, models, artists, health gurus and of course surfers. Many people regard this relaxed, hippie town as one of the top places in the world to visit. From barefoot backpackers to Hollywood celebrities, Byron Bay offers s a down to earth organic lifestyle that now only the super wealthy can afford.
In this series I wanted to create loose, natural images that reflect the typical lifestyle of Byron Bay.
The Great Barrier Reef is one of the worlds most iconic ‘Natural Wonders’. This series explores the beauty of our reef with a display of breathtaking imagery. I used elegant nudes to reinforce the natural beauty and vulnerability of our oceans. As the planet warms, our oceans biodiversity of sea life is under threat as it depends enormously on the reef for survival.
THIS YEARS SERIES OF PHOTOGRAPHS ARE DEDICATED TOWARDS THE AWARENESS OF CONSERVATION FOR AFRICAN ANIMALS AND PRESERVING THE NATURAL HABITAT IN WHICH THEY LIVE.
EACH YEAR, THOUSANDS OF ANIMALS ACROSS AFRICA ARE SLAUGHTERED FOR MEDICINE, ORNAMENTS AND HUNTING TROPHIES. ANTI-POACHING UNITS ACROSS MANY PARTS OF AFRICA WORK TIRELESSLY TRYING TO REDUCE THE NUMBER OF CASUALTIES THAT FALL VICTIM TO THIS DEPLORABLE TRADE.
THIS PROBLEM IS NOT AN EASY ONE TO SOLVE, AS IT RUNS DEEPLY INTO CORRUPT GOVERNMENTS AND MILITARY. THE TRADE ITSELF IS FUELLED BY DEMAND AND AS THE NUMBER OF ANIMALS DECREASE THE PRICES GET HIGHER, PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES OF THOSE WHO RISK THEIR OWN LIFE IN ORDER TO POCKET ONLY A FEW THOUSAND DOLLARS.
AFRICA IS HOME TO SOME OF THE WORLDS MOST LOVED ANIMALS AND IT SADDENS ME TO THINK THAT ONE DAY OUR CHILDREN MAY NOT GET TO SEE THEM IN THEIR NATURAL ENVIRONMENT.
EACH PICTURE IN THIS UNIQUE SERIES DELIVERS A STRONG MESSAGE TOWARDS CONSERVATION AND ALTHOUGH IT WASN’T MY EASIEST SHOOT, I FOUND IT THE MOST REWARDING IN SO MANY WAYS.
Limited Edition Prints
Archival giclee high quality matt art paper.
25% OF ALL SALES FROM THIS SERIES WILL BE DONATED TO SELECTED WILDLIFE CONSERVATION AND ANTI POACHING UNITS IN SOUTH AFRICA.
Surely these would look better on an elephant.
Being showered with the spirit of Africa is an experience like no other.
Hope gives us the optimism to continue.
It is so unfashionable to be naked. I wonder what animals would look like with clothes on.
To feel fear is in our genes for survival, but it is not in our genes to want handbags.
Together we can make a huge difference
If it were a beautiful girl slaughtered for her beautiful long legs, the world would probably notice.
If we all focused on change, surely we can make a difference.
A step in the right direction sometimes needs courage and bravery.
By taking away trees means that we take away life. By planting new trees we encourage it.
Battles can be won through kindness
Be careful what you shop for. When the big 5 are all gone, and the trees are no more, the only life to be seen is us.
Birds have homes too!
Before we act we must first learn.
Keeping lookout.
Love has no boundaries.
Paul Giggle travelled to Norway this year to explore the rugged coastline, spectacular fjords and beautiful countryside for this years 7th edition of his 12 Natural wonders series.
This bold, and diverse land of the Vikings provided the prefect backdrop for these timeless black and white landscape images. Paul integrated four models within these dramatic Norwegian locations to form twelve stunning nude landscape photographs.
‘Norway has some of the best locations I have ever experienced. Unfortunately, some where impossible to get too with the crew and timeframe so we chose a fabulous small city called Stravanger to work from. All the locations I wanted where no more than a couple of hours away. Working in public spaces is always difficult when shooting nudes, especially when a model hasn’t been photographed naked before. The models showed incredible courage and worked well outside their comfort zone. There where elements of danger with some locations and although Norway had one of it's best summers for years, being naked in the sea or wind for long periods proved to be rather chilly. Norway is a true natural wonder of the world and I am super thrilled with the experience and delighted with the final images.”

INSPIRED BY ITS CULTURE, COLOUR AND DIVERSE LOCATIONS, PAUL TRAVELLED TO JAPAN FOR THE 6TH IN THE SERIES OF 12 NATURAL WONDERS ART PROJECT.
Japan has a plethora of iconic inspiration and traditions to be thanked for;- Geishas, Samurai, Sumo, Green Tea, Sushi, Tea Houses, Kimonos, Sake, Ninjas, Zen, Bonsai, Udon Noodles, cherry blossoms and many more.
Paul wanted to include some of the culture and traditions yet inject a modern fashion twist into his pictures. He carefully researched locations that would suit his ideas and worked with some of Japans top model agencies to find suitable models for each photograph.
“With so many ideas and possibilities to choose from the main challenge for me was to firstly work out what was achievable in the time. I wanted to explore the narrow lane ways in Tokyo and Kyoto for the Geisha Scene, include the famous Love hotels, Samurai in a bamboo forest and also shoot in the busy Shibuya Square. My producers always think that I am nuts and try to tell me that it isn’t possible. I think we managed OK”.

For the fifth series of 12 Natural Wonders Paul traveled back to his homeland, England, where he set out to create a series of inspirational photographs that push the boundaries, juxtaposing provocative beauties against iconic backdrops.
After the huge success of his Russian series last year, England had to be different. It had to capture the core essence of London life.
His format of choice for the series was black and white to deliver a timeless, reportage quality.
Having spent many years in London, Paul felt passionate about capturing some of his favourite locations - the South London pubs where he first lived, and the last ride of the night on the underground - both with a mix of interesting characters mostly gangsters and pretty girls.
It was also important to include the London surrounds, in particular Brighton. His memories as a child playing on the rides and coin machines on the pier with his grandparents, and eating fish and chips whilst being swarmed by seagulls.
‘This is an important series for me as it plays a huge part of who I am today and I have so many fond memories of London. I love the individuality. It is a place where you can literally experience everything.’
Each of the 12 photographs in this series tells a unique story.

Italy has long been proclaimed as one of the world’s most alluring destinations, synonymous with fashion, art, glamour and style. This iconic location provided the ultimate setting for photographer Paul Giggle’s latest instalment of his 12 Natural Wonders art series.
“I set out to capture the essence of the Italian woman. I found myself inspired to portray beauty in provocative monochrome. It was my desire for the women in these artworks to be photographed in amazing lingerie and convey an expression of form that is both timeless and playful.”
Paul’s Italia collection features a series of twelve breathtakingly beautiful, high contrast black and white images of some of the most intriguing women Italy has to offer. The series depicts women who embody strength in seduction and empowerment in exploration.
Existing as both a collector’s series and as stand alone artworks, ITALIA is the realisation of months of hard work and planning. Behind these images there are models to be cast, locations to be scouted, crew to be secured and hours of travel across the globe.

With Brazil synonymous for having some of the sexiest and adored women in the world, it was no surprise that Paul chose to capture the vibrancy, warmth, colour and energy of South America’s largest country to coincide with the FIFA 2014 World Cup.
12 Natural Wonders Brazil embodies the diverse cultures, landscapes and flavours of the Brazilian beauty, but what makes each image a collectable piece of art from Paul is the meticulous and thoughtful research surrounding every shot, resulting in a glorious photographic exploration of the true natural wonders of Brazil.
Paul explains his quest to represent not just any ‘bikini girl’, but the very essence of Brazil’s women - all presented through a warm, sun-drenched hue that saturates the 12 images.
“We travelled all over the country to find the perfect backdrops to reflect the natural wonders of Brazil visiting stunning locations like the vibrancy of the famous beaches like Ipanema and Copacabana Beach, to the wild beauty of tropical North Brazil.
“I also wanted to represent all the wonderful ethnic flavours of Brazil; from the amazing blondes with their Dutch heritage, to the South American Indian influence with their very olive skin and long dark hair and then there is the quintessential powerful Amazonian Brazilian.”
